In Monte Odina we use only the best grapes coming from our own vineyards to make our wine. The vineyards of Monte Odina are at the South of the Protected Designation of Origin Area Somontano, where José Luis Romeo and his family grow vine grapes in 33 Hectares.

As is traditional in the Somontano for more than a century, we grow Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that vine growers brought in the early twenty century from the fields of our neighbors in Bordeaux, on the other side of the Pyrenees.

These grapes produce excellent wines and mature very well in oak barrels. We also grow Gewürstraminer grapes, a German grape that has been introduced here for over twenty five years and is really well adapted to our lands. This grape gives us an aromatic wine full of flower and fruit flavors.

We prune our vineyards in the Winter and in the Spring we control the growth of the plants with green prune to keep the precise balance between the grape and the leaves. This is the best way to make only quality grapes. We collect the grapes in September, during the whole night, so that they arrive at our winery under 15 ºC, keeping the fresh temperature and all their excellent qualities.
